| Tabasco still exemplifies some of the purest forms of prehispanic, Mexican music which uses only flutes and percussion. In a small community near Nacajuca, Tugta families are heirs to the anciente tradition of drum making. They dry the various animal skins and hollow out tree trunks with rudimentary tools in order to make the percussive instrumentes for which they are wellknown.
La Danza del Caballito y el Torito is a prime example of a happy and energetic music style of Tabasco.
